Pretty much the same thing has happened to me, except I wasn’t on a lake at the time (that would make running kinda difficult.)

I saw one on digg that the guy swung it around by the neck and threw it down and it kept coming.

I had a goose chase after me on a 20-miler once. I think it was the fastest I've ever run at mile 17 in a long run :) They are vicious!
